Italianiron & Britiron Classics-Additional Fuel Tank Offerings

At Italianiron/BritIron Classics, let us "Fuel Your Race Passions" is not just a slogan but a commitment, whether you are building a vintage TT racer for competition, a Ducati F1 vintage street bike or a classic Norton Commando, Dominator or Atlas twin. As a result, we are focused on and primarily committed to supporting the sport of Vintage Motorcycle Racing worldwide first and foremost. Maintaining a quality offering is the most important goal for us whether the items are made by TGA/Molnar Precision LTD in the UK or by Italianiron, LLC in the USA. Our offering applies whether for your Ducati TT or F1 racer or for your Norton Commando racer. Our race spec items are race tested for quality and assurance of structural integrity, performance, for light weight and for reliability. That is the measure for everything that we do. As a result, being cheapest is not our primary mission but providing good "value" for our race quality spares is what we strive to achieve. Shown below is our very popular aluminum TT 900 "shallow sump" fuel tank.

We continue to have great success offering our complete chrome-moly TT chassis and bodywork kits for the vintage racing community and street bike builders. As our TT 1100 and TT 900 racers have been popular builds for both racers and street riders, we are now offering a fiberglass option for our "shallow sump" TT 900 fuel tank that was designed to work with modern Ducati engines where the carburetors fit between the cylinder heads facing each other. Whereas, the majority of our sales have consisted of our aluminum fuel tank portfolio, we have found that we also needed to provide a cost effective fiberglass option as well. As a result, we wish to announce our new fiberglass, light weight TT 900 "shallow sump" fuel tank for racers and builders on a budget. However, when I was racing my Spaggiari Scuderia Ducati 750 Desmo racer, I had more success with using a fiberglass Imola fuel tank. I have been using race fuel in it successfully for almost 27 years. I also found it easier to repair the fiberglass tank after an "off". This new TT 900 tank is exclusive to us.

Our new TT 900 "shallow sump" fuel tank with fit either one of our TT1, TT2, TT 900 chrome-moly chassis kits. Our fiberglass fuel tank is manufactured in lightweight fiberglass (glass fibre) composite with an approximate capacity of 3.17 gallons or 12 liters. Our fiberglass TT 900 fuel tank is further manufactured with special additives in the resin to make the tank resistant to damage by modern fuels. It is guaranteed by our limited warranty not to degrade under the effect of ethanol up to E5. A breather is fitted to this tank as a requirement under racing regulations. It is also fitted with two M12 x 1.5 female tap bosses. Do know that we can supply appropriate taps or petcocks. Our TT 900 "shallow sump" fiberglass fuel tank can also be supplied with either no cap (only an 80mm aperture), screw cap or an Aero type cap. We have also been supplying the Ducati Pantah race and build community with quality chassis and bodywork options in addition to our portfolio of engines and other OEM Ducati Pantah spares. Shown above is a Ducati Pantah 650 racer project that we built where we used our specialty fiberglass Pantah race tank with our matching Pantah racer seat base. Half fairing was OEM and in this build, we used an OEM Pantah frame with additional gusseting welded to the frame to enhance the rigidity for this race application. We also converted the OEM frame to accept our TT/F1 Verlicchi style rear swingarm for use with a mono-shock set-up. Additionally, any post regarding fuel tanks would not be complete if I did not mention our line of quality aluminum fuel tanks for the different models of the Norton Commando, Norton Atlas and Molnar Manx.
