"Shifting Gears" New Strategic Business Focus @ Italian & Brit Iron Classics, LLC

Posted by Scot P Wilson on Mar 24th 2026

After almost 30 years of providing high quality NOS and good used OEM spares for Ducati's and Norton's, we will be "shifting gears" in terms of our offerings and our marketing focus. We will continue to support the Sport of Vintage Motorcycle Racing internationally and will continue to focus our offering, almost exclusively on our newly manufacutured spares for Ducati's and Norton's. Approximately 90% of the used OEM inventory has been sold to 5 different dealers. As a key US dealer for TGA Molnar Precision LTD and Molnar Manx, we will continue to offer a wide range of newly manufactured chrome-moly frames, bodywork and engine components for these two principal marques. Therefore we will be resellers for our key manufacturing partners and can confidently take these more focused actions as we continue to have seriously discounted international and domestic shipping rates that we share with our customers, even in this crazy international shipping environment. Shipping has NEVER been a profit center for us and never will!! We will also focus on deepening our offerings of the next generation of SmartCarb Flat-Slide carburetors and the Hand Held Dyno electronic ignition kit by OEM Digital. Both of these technologically advanced systems have proven to be significant sources of enhancements in performance for your Ducati  racers and Norton Commando and Manx racers.

Please note that Jeff and Stuart at AMS Ducati Dallas bought all of our Ducati Bevel Drive inventory as they remain a great source for keeping your Ducati Bevel Drives vital and performing at their best. All of our Ducati Superbike inventory for Ducati 851 to 999 Superbikes, both refurbished and not refurbished was purchased by Nick at Black Label Meccanica. Nick continues to be a very reliable and honorable source for modern Ducati Superbikes. I do continue to have a good selection of refurbished Ducati Supersport bodywork to include a large range of Supersport bodywork from models ranging from 1989 through 1998. As I am moving my business to a smaller space, please email me at Italianiron7@gmail.com or feel confident in using our "Make an Offer" feature to make an offer on our remaining sets of bodywork and fuel tanks that results in a Win:Win for both parties. It is remarkable that we have sold over 30 sets of Supersport bodywork (RH & LH) and countless fuel tanks over the years as the 1990's era of Supersport continues to have a significant following. Those carbureted Supersports when mounting a set of SmartCarb flatslides makes for a significant and winning package. These carburated Ducati Supersport engines make for a potent package when installed into one of our chrome-moly Ducati TT frames with aluminum fuel tanks and carbon fiber bodywork!!

As my first racebike was a Norton Commando, that marque has always been near and dear to my heart. Thanks to our affiliation with Molnar Manx in the UK, we have been very fortunate to offer race quality products for an entirely new market of British racing motorcycle enthusiasts. Whereas the Norton marque is our key British focus, through our sources we are also able to offer specialty chrome-moly frames, engine components and bodywork for specials such as the Vincent, Matchless and Triton racers. Do follow our Facebook albums on our Dunstall Norton 1000 cc Commando and John Player Norton 920 cc Commando racer builds using newly manufactured Commando engine components. Other than structural improvements, all engine cases, aluminum barrels and heads for 750 cc to 920 cc (73 mm, 77 mm, and 81 mm) are manufactured in accordance with the original factory blue prints except for the Norton 1000 cc Commando engine with 83 mm bores. The 83 mm (1000 cc) items are manufactured on wider centers to accomodate the larger bores and as a result, requires our specific engine cases, our stainless steel engine crank, aluminum barrels and heads. We also offer Carrillo light weight rods and JE pistons or GPM pistons for your specific Norton twin cylinder engine build, in addition to our Manx offerings.

We will be working feverishly on reconfiguring our Italianiron.com website to remove the inventory of our vintage OEM spares that are sold and with our new strategic focus on highlighting our biggest selling items. We will also continue to offer our large range of bodywork for many marques to include Italian, British and Japanese manufacturers such as Aermacchi, Ducati Bevel Drive, Ducati TT,  Ducati Pantah, Honda, Kirby, Robb North, Seeley and Yamaha to name a few. As a result of my many builds and racers, it is my belief that we offer the most most cost effective and most flexible, quality windscreens available. We have not had to use a heat gun on any to make our windscreens fit. Additionally, we offer windscreens for every one of our bodywork kits regardless of the marque. Please note that regardless of our significant shipping discounts in this era of tariffs, high jet fuel prices and the challenges associated with shipping internationally in general, we do "batch" orders of bodywork to minimize the per unit shipping cost to our customers. Therefore, depending on the time of year related to the beginning or the end of the race season, it is prudent to order your bits proactively to maximize cost effective shipping. Proactivity, strategically is what is required in today's ever changing, international business climate. We look forward to continue to be of service.
